FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES in Brooksville, FL is seeking an Automotive Equipment Mechanic II to repair gasoline and diesel power equipment and support EMS/EMIS records. The role requires hands-on repair skills, the ability to troubleshoot with specialized tools, and a proactive approach to maintenance and safety.

The incumbent will rebuild major components on heavy trucks and forestry equipment, prepare work orders, manage parts costs, and ensure accurate inventory

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience in heavy equipment or automotive repair work.
• Certificate of completion from a technical school for automotive/heavy equipment repair can substitute for the required experience.
• Valid driver license is required for all positions.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel powered equipment.
• Troubleshoot problems using specialized equipment and technical publications.
• Rebuild major components on heavy trucks, crawler tractors and forestry equipment.
• Prepare computerized work orders and purchase orders; manage parts costs and inventory.
• Maintain accurate records for the parts warehouse inventory and EMIS reports.
