Job summary
Placements24 in Welkom, Free State, is seeking an experienced Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test complex electrical systems for new vehicle platforms. You will ensure performance, reliability, and safety of electrical components and architectures while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 6+ years in automotive electrical systems, with proficiency in CAD tools and automotive communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering required.
- 6+ years in automotive electrical systems.
- Experience with CAD and simulation tools like Altium or Mentor Graphics.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical system architectures, including wiring harnesses and power distribution.
- Specify and select electrical components, sensors and actuators.
- Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics and documentation.
- Perform system integration, testing and validation of electrical systems in vehicle prototypes.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during development and production phases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software and manufacturing.
