Job summary

Tekshapers in Detroit, MI is seeking a Packaging Engineer to support automotive product development and vehicle component integration. You will manage packaging layouts, ensure proper fitment and clearances, and review CAD models to identify conflicts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Experience in automotive packaging engineering or vehicle component integration.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, or Creo.
• Knowledge of vehicle architecture and clearance analysis.
• Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage automotive component packaging layouts.
• Ensure proper component fitment, clearances, and integration within vehicle systems.
• Review 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to identify packaging conflicts.
• Perform interference checks, clearance analysis, and tolerance stack-up assessments.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, product engineering, and supplier teams.
• Support design reviews, engineering changes, prototype builds, and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with automotive design, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
