Challenge Manufacturing seeks an Automation Technician III for our Kansas City, MO plant. You will lead advanced troubleshooting, PLC/HMI programming, and robot cell optimization on first shift (5:30 AM - 2:30 PM). The role demands deep electrical/mechanical expertise and the ability to mentor less senior technicians.

Required are extensive experience in automated welding, PLC programming, and a strong mechatronics background. ESOP and extensive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years combined experience in Automation Technician roles or equivalent.
• Experience with PLC systems and intermediate programming methods.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Automation Technician I & II and Weld Technicians.
• Follow safety procedures while servicing or maintaining equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems using schematics and prints.
• Weld automation troubleshooting and robot programming as needed.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and verify PLC/HMI programs and I/O configurations.
