Job summary
Freeport-McMoRan’s Miami smelter and rod plant seeks an experienced Industrial Control Systems technician. Under minimal supervision, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, commission, and improve ICs hardware and software, mentor junior staff, and support PCN cybersecurity and historian systems.
You’ll implement process automation improvements, review engineering docs, manage projects and life-cycle activities, and participate in 24/7 operations.
Qualifications
- Completion of an approved electrical/instrumentation certification program and one year of experience in process automation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Five years of experience in electrical/instrumentation/Process Automation maintenance and troubleshooting in an industrial setting, including one year of Process Automation maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, commission, and improve site Industrial Control Systems under minimal supervision.
- Mentor junior technicians, engineers, and operators on Process Automation topics and ensure safety/compliance.
- Lead and review engineering documentation; manage projects and lifecycle activities; support PCN cybersecurity and historian systems.
