Job summary
Challenge Manufacturing in Kansas City, MO, seeks an experienced Automation Technician to support setup, troubleshooting, and operation of automated welding cells. You will mentor I & II technicians and welders while following safety procedures.
The role requires reading electrical schematics, wiring harnesses, and drive systems, and offers first-shift hours in a plant setting with ESOP participation. Experience with PLC programming, robotics, and offline programming tools like RoboCAD/Robot
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required with ability to read and understand instructions.
- Industrial Journeyman certification or higher strongly preferred.
- Mechatronics certificate or journeyperson card beneficial.
- Associates degree in mechatronics or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide production support by setting up and troubleshooting automated welding cells.
- Mentor Automation Technician I & II and Weld Technicians.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain equipment with corrective/preventive maintenance.
- Perform intermediate programming tasks and robot off-line programming; verify I/O and zones.
