Job summary
Peak Energy is seeking an Automation Technician to join our Sacramento manufacturing team, building and maintaining automation equipment for our Battery Energy Storage System line. You’ll install valves, sensors, cabling, and field devices, and you’ll troubleshoot during production to minimize downtime.
This role requires hands-on experience in industrial automation, strong documentation, and the ability to mentor a second technician across shifts.
Qualifications
- Must have hands-on automation, controls or electrical experience in industrial setting.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience mentoring a second technician and coordinating with shifts.
Responsibilities
- Build and install automation equipment including valves, actuators, sensors, wiring.
- Commission new equipment and perform IO checks, network diagnostics, and firmware updates.
- Respond to automation failures and restore production quickly and safely.
- Document assessments, repairs, and downtime with clear handoff to engineering.
- Guide a second technician on shift and ensure consistent troubleshooting practices.
- Support preventive maintenance for PLC I/O modules, sensors, drives, and pneumatics.
- Follow safety procedures including LOTO and NFPA 70E.
