Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Test Technician to join our ESS team, working at our prototype facility in the San Francisco Bay Area. This hands-on role covers assembly, integration, and testing of energy storage system prototypes.

The position starts in Burlingame, CA through early 2027 for onboarding, then transitions to Sacramento, CA. Candidates should have 3+ years in technician roles, strong wiring, soldering, and testing skills, and a safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in electrical/mechanical fields.
• 3+ years as a technician or assembler in manufacturing or engineering.
• Ability to read schematics and follow complex wiring/assembly instructions.
• Experience with batteries, power electronics, and prototyping testing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test ESS prototypes per project specs.
• Wire, cabling, and solder components to build functional prototypes.
• Set up testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Perform functional, performance, and validation tests on prototypes.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions with engineering.
• Document procedures and results, maintain records of builds.
• Adhere to safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and equipment.
