Job summary
Paycom seeks an Automation SME Manager in Houston to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting advanced power generation technologies, automation, telemetry, and data integration. You will provide technical leadership across product lines and drive standardized engineering practices across lifecycle stages.
The role requires deep experience in automation, power systems, and analytics, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance improvements across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- Ten+ years in power generation, automation, controls, electrical systems.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across disciplines.
- Bachelor’s in electrical/controls/automation/mechanical/CS or equivalent.
- Knowledge of gas turbine controls programs and related platforms.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and technical oversight for a multidisciplinary SME team in power generation, automation, telemetry, and related tech.
- Establish SME ownership across critical technologies and systems with clear authorities.
- Serve as senior technical escalation point for complex engineering, integration, commissioning, and operational issues.
- Lead development and standardization of automation architectures, control philosophies, and interfaces.
- Drive telemetry, data acquisition, industrial networking, edge computing, and remote connectivity.
- Support AI-driven predictive analytics, condition monitoring, and asset performance technologies.
- Provide technical oversight of generator systems, excitation, synchronization, protection, and PMS integration.
- Lead RCA activities and drive corrective/preventative actions.
