Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of custom automated assembly equipment from concept to completion. You will coordinate design teams, manage resources, and ensure timelines and budgets are met.

Your background should include a BSME or equivalent, 5+ years in design of customized automation, proficiency with SolidWorks, and experience with welding, fixtures, and GD&T. Advanced robotics or vision systems experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent mechanical engineering degree.
• 5+ years of design experience for fully customized automated production equipment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Experience with welding, fixture design and GD&T.
• Experience collaborating with customers and suppliers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall design of customized automated equipment contracted for a client.
• Break down design effort for large projects and manage milestones and timelines.
• Incorporate robotics, vision systems, welding, fixtures, controls, handling, and high-speed assembly into designs.
• Regularly communicate project status with customers and management.
