Job summary

Adient seeks an Automation Applications Engineer to lead installation and launch of automation projects in assembly plants, focusing on JIT and seat structure operations. You will coordinate with plant tech/automation teams, the central automation team, and external vendors to ensure automation systems are installed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with Adient standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics, CS, or equivalent.
5+ years in manufacturing automation, installation, or controls engineering; automotive interiors/assemblies preferred.
Experience leading automation projects from planning through plant handoff.

Responsibilities

Lead installation and launch of automation projects in assembly plants.
Coordinate activities between plant teams, central automation, vendors, and maintenance.
Develop and manage installation timelines, launch readiness, and issue tracking.
Ensure compliance with specifications, validation, and qualification processes.
Provide hands-on support during installation, debugging, commissioning, and early production.
Coordinate supplier relationships and handoffs to plant teams.
