Job summary

Matrix Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to develop and implement control systems across multiple industries.

You will design, code, and validate DCS/PLC programs, create operator graphics, and lead project teams through software development and commissioning. Strong collaboration with other engineering disciplines is required, along with client-facing responsibilities and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of controls, automation, and electrical troubleshooting and start-up experience.
• FE or PE certification preferred.
• Experience with distillery operations or process manufacturing is a strong asset.
• Ability to travel ~15–25% locally or overnight.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow safety practices; supervise site team safety.
• Mentor others and participate in process improvements.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and design concepts.
• Lead software development for DCS/PLC-based control systems and HMI graphics.
• Prepare functional specs, test specs, and perform on-site commissioning.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to finalize designs.
