Job summary

LifeMade Products LLC in Louisville, KY, seeks an Automation Engineer to collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Operations to specify and quote automation meeting customer expectations. You will provide machine requirements with assembly rates and manning for quoting and specify general automation designs for new assembly lines.

You will run vendor validations, lead DFMEA/risk management, and coordinate installation and operation validations while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Five years of injection molding, automation design and build, and project management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of automation design and construction techniques.
• Proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks).
• Proficiency with project management tools (Gantt charts, timelines, change control, budgets).
• Strong organizational and planning skills with problem-solving abilities.
• Detail oriented with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication across levels, including customers and suppliers.
• Black belt or lean experience preferred.
• Experience with installation and operation validations.

Responsibilities

• Creates and issues user requirement specifications and automation quotes for new assembly cells.
• Defines automation design approaches including materials and controls to meet quality and capacity targets.
• Approves automation designs prior to system build.
• Supports operations with project plans, schedules, budgets, and task lists.
• Collaborates with plant operations and quality on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leads mold and assembly automation validations and ensures qualification of equipment and processes.
• Leads and coordinates maintenance efforts and establishes machine records.
• Manages internal and external relationships to meet commitments.
