Job summary

AstraZeneca Frederick Manufacturing Center seeks an experienced Lead Automation Engineer to provide technical leadership for automation projects and ongoing lifecycle management. You will own DeltaV DCS and Rockwell/FactoryTalk systems, drive design and commissioning, and mentor project teams across IT/OT domains.

The role emphasizes cGMP compliance, alarm/cybersecurity practices, and integration with MES, historians, and enterprise systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum 8 years experience implementing automation solutions in an industrial environment.
Experience leading automation engineering activities in regulated manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Technical ownership of automation for capital projects and lifecycle initiatives.
Lead design reviews of automation concepts, architectures, and control strategies.
Lead DeltaV DCS and Rockwell/FactoryTalk oversight, including configuration, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle management.
Perform system integration across DeltaV, PLCs, MES, historians, and IT/OT interfaces.
Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to automation teams and contractors.
Ensure compliance with cGMP, cybersecurity, and site automation standards.
