Senior Automation Engineer

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to integrate security into the SDLC and advance automation across our DoD-focused environment in Maryland. You will mentor teammates and lead the integration of new systems into our automation framework.

The role requires strong Ansible/PowerShell expertise, CI/CD implementation, IaC, and extensive DoD experience. You will work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting with a focus on secure, automated software delivery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience supporting DoD or government agencies.
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting, triaging, or resolving automation issues using Ansible or PowerShell.
• Experience with Ansible, Git, RHEL, and virtualization including VMware or Linux KVM.
• Knowledge of Agile development.
• Ability to develop tools and processes for DevSecOps automation.
• Secret clearance required.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Experience with designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code.
• Experience with application containerization.
• Experience modeling network configuration in JSON and YAML.
• Experience with network automation in Python and Ansible.
• Knowledge of networking principles and concepts.
• Knowledge of API design and object-oriented principles.
