Job summary

Jobtailor in Washington, DC is seeking a DevOps/Platform Engineer to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines from commit to deployment and to implement progressive delivery strategies using blue/green and canary deployments. You will write infrastructure-as-code on AWS, containerize services, and ensure patching, vulnerability scanning, monitoring, and logging to support secure operations and ATO processes.

• 1-3 years of software development, platform, or operations engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Scripting ability (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts.
• Hands-on experience with at least one pipeline tool.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with containerization.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Preferred: FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, ATO processes, or security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Configure monitoring, logging, and vulnerability scanning for observable and secure systems.
• Help assemble security evidence for Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
• Build routine automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Implement automated security testing (SAST, DAST, SCA), policy-as-code checks, monitoring, logging, and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Participate in shift-left security practices.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as Amazon Q Developer.
• Contribute to new capabilities, tools, and lines of business.
