Job summary

GAF is seeking a Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV to provide technical leadership for control and automation systems across facilities. The role involves troubleshooting production line equipment, mentoring plant controls staff, and guiding cross-functional project teams to deliver high-impact engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing standards, leading multi-plant projects, and ensuring production networks and instrumentation are robust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing environment is required.
• 10+ years of controls engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Proficiency with Rockwell Automation software including Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FTView, CCW, and FTAC.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drives.
• Experience with HMI development using FTView or Wonderware.
• Experience maintaining production networks, servers, and managed switches.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary internal engineering resource for control systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant performance and share best practices.
• Lead and facilitate strategic projects across multiple plants.
• Provide plant support and training for control systems; remote and on-site as needed.
• Coordinate with controls group and maintain knowledge of contemporary technology.
• Lead controls projects from scope to installation/startup; manage vendors as needed.
