Job summary

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to own the design, development, and delivery of automation controls for next-generation manufacturing and postponement operations across U.S. and EU/UK locations.

You will architect PLC-based controls solutions, integrate robotics and vision systems, and drive continuous improvement of system performance and reliability. This hands-on leadership role requires meticulous project management, hardware/CAD sensibility, and experience guiding

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications and design verification plans.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in robotics, mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of industrial controls and automation experience.
• 3+ years of PLC programming experience.
• Experience leading vendor/integrator relationships and managing external contractors to deliver technical solutions on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Own controls system architecture for complex manufacturing automation lines.
• Design and develop end-to-end automation systems from concept to commissioning.
• Lead machine vision systems for automated inspection and validation.
• Manage project lifecycles, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
• Coordinate with external integrators and vendors to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets across geographies.
• Travel to manufacturing sites and vendor facilities for FATs, commissioning, and support.
