Job summary

Briggs & Stratton is seeking a Senior Controls and Automation Engineer to lead PLC-based control systems for manufacturing and test equipment. You will develop and support HMI/SCADA systems, design electrical control panels and power distribution, and lead automation projects to raise productivity and quality.

The role partners with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Product Engineering, and Operations to support growth and automation strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Automation Engineering.
Minimum several years of professional engineering experience in manufacturing, controls, automation, or electrical systems.
Experience designing and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
Experience with battery manufacturing, electrification products, or automated assembly operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based control systems.
Develop and support HMI, SCADA, and automation systems.
Lead automation projects to improve productivity, quality, safety, and reliability.
Evaluate and implement new automation technologies and control systems.
Lead capital equipment and automation projects from concept through implementation.
