Job summary

Radiant Industries, Inc. in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to join a fast-growing startup building nuclear microreactors. You will design, implement, and test automated production and verification systems, enabling high-volume manufacturing while ensuring safety and reliability.

The role focuses on PLC programming, electrical systems, HMI development, and equipment commissioning for scalable, safe operations in a pioneering energy tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or CS from an accredited institution.
• 4+ years designing and commissioning automation and controls for industrial applications.
• Experience with electrical panels, NEC/NFPA/UL508A compliance, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage automation projects for mass production and testing.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code with maintainable, reusable structure.
• Ensure safe, reliable equipment by applying ANSI/RIA R15.06 and OSHA standards.
• Develop aesthetically simple HMI screens to simplify complex machines.
