Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own electrical control system designs from requirements through operation, interfacing with fault-tolerant hardware and multi-disciplinary reactor teams.

You will design schematics, wiring diagrams, harnesses, and integration assemblies, lead safety-critical architectures, and ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC standards. This onsite role offers strong compensation and equity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
5+ years designing electrical hardware.
Experience with fault-tolerant, safety-critical hardware.
Proficient with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, EtherCAT, Modbus, CANbus, RS-422).
Experience selecting and troubleshooting sensors (pressure transducers, RTDs, thermocouples).
Proficient with electrical CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Zuken).
Experience with industrial power systems (120/208/480 VAC).
VFDs, soft starters, and MCCs knowledge.

Responsibilities

Collaborate on architecture, design, implementation, and testing of microreactor electrical control systems.
Design and develop control hardware: schematics, wiring diagrams, harnesses, and assemblies.
Lead fault-tolerant and safety-critical electrical systems with reliability and safety compliance.
Develop and review electrical interfaces between control systems, power equipment, and instrumentation.
Ensure designs meet NFPA/NEC and electrical safety standards.
Perform SCCR and Arc Flash calculations.
