Job summary
Planet Group of Companies seeks a Sr Electrical Engineer (Automation/Controls) to lead electrical/controls support for packaging equipment and manufacturing process improvements at our North Haven site. You will draft electrical schematics, IQ/IQ/QA protocols, and FAT/SAT execution while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
You will utilize ABB/Rockwell PLCs, Cognex vision systems, and FactoryTalk software to diagnose faults, implement improvements, and ensure equipment meets CTQ
Qualifications
- Experience with PLC & Vision platforms (GuardLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) and HMIs (FactoryTalk ME/SE) and Vision Inspection (Cognex, Keyence).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose servo/stepper motion control.
- Proficient in electrical/controls design with NFPA standards and automated assembly equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical/controls support for packaging equipment and retrofit projects.
- Provide documentation: operating instructions, schematics, specifications, IQ/IQ tests and FAT/SAT execution.
- Review quotes and participate in vendor selection and equipment qualification.
