Job summary

TAI is seeking a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer in Newark, Delaware to lead control system design for complex pharmaceutical projects from concept through commissioning. You will drive engineering excellence, review designs, and align automation solutions with GMP, regulatory, and operational goals.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, guide technical strategy, and contribute to successful facility and process automation delivery across life sciences projects.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of control system design experience for construction documents.
• Minimum of 3 years supporting Pharma/Biotech/Life Science projects.
• Experience with PLCs, instrumentation, and control panels in Life Sciences.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus and industrial networks.
• Experience with Rockwell family processors and HMI integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of control systems and review project deliverables.
• Prepare technical requirements specifications for systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with Design Contractor and stakeholders on design deliverables.
• Review and approve electrical drawings, I/O lists, and PLC/HMI programs.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and protocol development.
• Ensure GMP and SHE requirements are reflected in designs.
