Job summary

Amazon seeks a Sr. Controls Systems Engineer to own hands-on design, programming, commissioning, and operation of controls across our manufacturing environment.

You will architect and program PLCs, build SCADA/HMI apps, and integrate robots while serving as the technical authority for controls across MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, PLC, and SCADA layers. You will partner with teams to implement data-driven controls solutions, ensure safety compliance, and drive reliability across high-volume production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Math, or related field.
• 7+ years in controls engineering or automation.
• Experience deploying control systems from pilot to production (FAT, SAT, ramp).
• Hands-on PLC programming with Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000/ControlLogix.
• Experience with SCADA/HMI systems (Ignition, FactoryTalk, WinCC).
• Experience coordinating with system integrators and ensuring vendor compliance.
• Knowledge of MES-ERP-WMS-QMS-PLC-SCADA integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and program PLC architectures across Siemens and Rockwell platforms.
• Develop and enforce controls standards for hardware, software, and networking.
• Design, deploy, and maintain SCADA/HMI layers providing real-time visibility.
• Implement automation and robot integration across cells and lines.
• Develop functional safety designs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead MES integration at the controls layer with enterprise systems.
