Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Test Engineer in Mankato, MN to design, develop, and support automated test solutions for electronic and electromechanical products. You will own the full lifecycle of automated test equipment and fixtures, from architecture to deployment, calibration, and obsolescence, ensuring robust coverage and efficient cycle times.

You will mentor other engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and lead technical projects while maintaining rigorous documentation and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Five+ years designing and supporting automated test systems in manufacturing.
• Experience integrating software, instrumentation, and fixtures into cohesive test solutions.
• Proficient with LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar platforms.
• Proficient in Python, C#, C/C++ for test automation.
• Ability to read schematics/PCB layouts and select test equipment.
• Hands-on with test fixtures, boards, cables, and hardware.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, DAQ, and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test strategies to meet coverage and cycle targets.
• Own full lifecycle of automated test equipment, fixtures, and controls.
• Develop and maintain test software, sequences, drivers, and data interfaces.
• Define test requirements, conditions, and acceptance criteria.
• Troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Analyze test data and report results, risks, and recommendations.
• Lead DFT reviews and improve testability and manufacturability.
• Create comprehensive test system documentation and procedures.
• Train production personnel in safe operation and maintenance of test systems.
• Lead projects with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
