Job summary

Carrier in Irving, TX is seeking a Sr. Claims Representative to join the branch office. This role handles liability claims across Commercial Auto and General Liability, assesses coverage, liability, and damage issues, and investigates to resolve claims promptly.

You will coordinate with insureds, witnesses, and counsel, prepare reserve analyses, letters, and negotiate settlements, while ensuring regulatory compliance and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of claims handling experience.
• Strong knowledge of liability, such as Commercial Auto and General Liability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain state adjusting licenses, as needed.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review policy conditions, exclusions, and endorsements to resolve coverage and liability issues for assigned claims.
• Prepare reservation of rights letters, nonwaiver agreements, and coverage reminders to address claim coverage issues.
• Review and evaluate claim reserves to ensure reserves reflect potential exposure.
• Investigate claims to evaluate coverage and legal issues, including statements and records collection.
• Provide documentation and reporting of investigation and claims handling activities.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys; coordinate with mediation, arbitration, or court supervision as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
• Direct defense counsel, independent adjusters, and other third parties retained for the claim.
• Identify and pursue risk transfer opportunities when applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.
