Job summary

USAA in Grapevine, TX is hiring a field-based auto damage claims adjuster to appraise highly complex auto physical damage claims in compliance with state laws and policy terms. You will deliver exceptional member service with proactive communication and empathy.

Responsibilities include investigating damages, reviewing loss facts, coordinating with insured and third parties, and maintaining meticulous claim files; some travel and CAT support may be required.

Qualifications

• 2 years auto appraising experience.
• Proficient knowledge of P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages.
• Advanced estimating losses using CCC or similar estimating platforms.
• Written and verbal skills to communicate with members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Investigates claim damages including communicating with the insured, internal claims adjusters, and third parties/vendors.
• Evaluates and appraises highly complex auto physical damage claims per contract guidelines and state laws.
• Reviews facts of loss and vehicle damage to determine subrogation opportunities and ensure documentation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of insurance products, services, contracts, and internal processes to ensure legal compliance.
• Maintains accurate claim file documentation throughout the process for complex claims.
• Reviews claims/suppliers for fraud indicators and refers to Special Investigations Unit when applicable.
• Supports workload surges and CAT response, including potential on-call work outside normal hours.
• May serve as SME representative for disputed claims and assist teammates with escalated issues.
• Coordinates with vendors and internal teams to resolve the most complex claims.
