Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is recruiting for a 275kV Lead Senior Authorised Person / HV Manager for a long-term offshore wind project in the USA. The role oversees HV Authorised Persons and coordinates HV activities across onshore control rooms and offshore assets.

Experience as a Lead SAP or HV Manager is required, with 275kV transmission experience. Offshore wind exposure is preferred, with strong LOTO/PTW/LOA know-how and safe systems discipline.

275kV Lead Senior Authorised Person / HV Manager - Long-Term Contract - Offshore Wind - USA

I'm working with a major contractor delivering commissioning, quality assurance and HV safety activities across a large-scale offshore wind development.

The project requires a Lead SAP/ HV Managers to oversee a team of HV Authorised Persons and coordinate HV activities across the onshore and offshore electrical infrastructure. Funding has been approved for both positions.

The role will involve:

• Acting as Lead Senior Authorised Person across systems up to 275kV.
• Managing and coordinating the project's team of HV Authorised Persons.
• Working primarily from the onshore control room.
• Coordinating onshore and offshore HV switching activities.
• Managing LOTO, PTW, LOA and associated electrical safety documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with the project's HV safety rules.
• Supporting system energisation, commissioning and operational activities.
• Coordinating activities across the offshore substation and wider electrical network.
• Liaising with commissioning managers, engineers and offshore personnel.
• Providing technical leadership and operational oversight across the HV scope.

Experience required:

• Previous experience as a Senior Authorised Person, Lead SAP or HV Manager.
• Operational experience at 275kV or a comparable transmission voltage.
• Strong control room and HV switching coordination experience.
• Detailed knowledge of LOTO, PTW, LOA and safe systems of work.
• Experience managing or coordinating HV Authorised Persons.
• Offshore wind experience is preferred but not essential.
• Candidates with a strong onshore transmission background will also be considered.
• GWO certification would be advantageous.
• Corp to Corp contract.
• Based primarily onshore in Virginia.
• Flexible rotational arrangements available.
• Close coordination with the offshore HV APs, commissioning teams and wider project stakeholders.
