Job summary

RES is seeking a Senior Authorised Person (33kV) to support HV Operations and Maintenance across renewable energy sites in the UK. The role is site-based with some travel for training and occasional overnight calls, requiring current SAP status and full UK driving licence.

You will work on HV equipment across solar, wind, and storage assets, performing operation and maintenance tasks, coordinating with the O&M office and external stakeholders, and ensuring strict safety and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• HV Safe Systems of Work knowledge
• Knowledge of UK high voltage legislation and HV safety rules
• HV equipment knowledge (11–33 kV SAP)
• Electrical engineering background

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards
• Achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status
• Carry out basic HV protection testing; complex protection testing desirable
• Troubleshoot RES-controlled plant/equipment
• Induct and manage subcontractors and staff ensuring safety and quality
• Coordinate with O&M office and external stakeholders (DNO, asset owner)
• Prepare switching schedules and safety documents
• Maintain asset register and maintenance plans for HV equipment
• Be available for weekend/on-call duties and occasional travel for training
