Job summary

BerryDunn is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join our Financial Services Practice Group. You will lead audit, review, compilation, and related engagements for financial services clients while building strong client relationships and coaching developing professionals.

This position may be based in Bangor, ME; Portland, ME; or remotely with minimal travel. You will work with a collaborative team that values quality and practical problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Accounting with 150 semester hours required.
• 3+ years of progressive public accounting audit experience.
• CPA license or active pursuit with BerryDunn support available.
• Strong analytical, technical accounting, and auditing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements with sound judgment.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Interest in coaching others and contributing to a team environment.
• Experience in financial services is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit, review, compilation engagements from planning through completion.
• Develop understanding of client operations, risks, and goals.
• Research and analyze financial statements and audit matters.
• Build relationships with client management and staff through service.
• Identify recommendations to strengthen controls and processes.
• Participate in planning, closing, and audit committee meetings.
• Support partners with proposals and business development.
• Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns.
• Provide feedback to support staff development and engagement.
• Participate in recruiting and represent the team as needed.
• Continue building technical knowledge through training.
