Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services seeks a Senior Auditor to safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults by leading audits of the agency's financial, administrative, and programmatic operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting plus 3 years of accounting or auditing experience.
• Master's degree in accounting plus 1 year of accounting or auditing experience.
• Five years of risk-based auditing experience.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise professional audit staff conducting audits of financial, operational, and program records.
• Prepare, review, and edit audit reports and work papers.
• Develop and update agency-wide risk assessment and audit guides.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and protect PII.
• Preside over entry and exit conferences as needed.
• Assist with training staff on new developments in procedures.
