Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Director or Audit Manager to join our growing Professional Services Industry team. This in-office role can be based in Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem.

You will lead and oversee audit engagements, drive strategy and budgeting, and act as a trusted advisor to clients everywhere. With a CPA license and at least 6 years in a large professional services or public accounting firm, you will mentor teams, cultivate client relationships, and ensure high

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA license certification is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee audit and assurance engagements for professional services clients, guiding teams through all phases of the engagement lifecycle.
• Drive engagement strategy, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and to client expectations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and key decision-maker for client engagements, communicating progress and recommendations to leadership.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams with coaching and technical guidance.
• Cultivate strong client relationships by discussing objectives, scope, timelines, and fees.
• Review and enhance audit programs and internal control evaluations for quality and compliance.
• Monitor engagement performance, budgets, and deadlines, identifying process improvements.
• Facilitate client meetings, presenting findings and strategic insights to aid business decisions.
