Career Legal in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead and grow the firm’s audit team. The role focuses on managing engagements from planning through delivery, mentoring staff, and strengthening client relationships.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA, has 5+ years in public accounting, and demonstrates strong GAAP knowledge, leadership, and communication skills while delivering high-quality audits on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's preferred.
• CPA certification required, or actively pursuing licensure.
• 5+ years in public accounting or audit services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audits, reviews, compilations, and other attest engagements from planning through completion.
• Oversee engagement budgets, staffing, schedules, and deadlines.
• Supervise and mentor senior and staff auditors, providing technical guidance.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and firm policies.
• Identify audit risks, assess internal controls, and develop risk-based audit plans.
• Perform complex audit procedures and evaluate financial reporting processes.
• Act as the primary client contact, addressing queries and maintaining relationships.
• Review and deliver client reports, financial statements, audit findings, and recommendations.
• Monitor engagement progress to ensure timely and budget-compliant work.
• Support business development, including identifying opportunities and proposals.
• Contribute to internal initiatives and team training.
