Job summary

Withum is seeking an Audit Senior Associate to join our Irvine, CA team on a hybrid schedule. You'll lead audit engagements from planning through completion, mentor staff, and build client relationships with quality service.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting, are licensed CPAs or pursuing CPA certification, with at least 2 years in public accounting and proven ability to supervise multiple engagements within US GAAP frameworks. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license or working towards CPA certification.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to provide world-class client service.
• Overseeing day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and conclusion.
• Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff and promoting open communication to the engagement manager and partner.
• Collaborating with managers and partners on client issue resolutions and making recommendations on regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement.
• Reviewing all scheduled and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries.
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
• Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies.
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly.
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
