Job summary

Doeren Mayhew, a Troy, Michigan–based CPA firm, seeks a FIG – Financial Statement Audit Professional to lead and support audit engagements for financial institutions, including credit unions and community banks.

Under the FIG Practice Leader, you will plan, execute, review, and manage engagements, mentoring staff and upholding high professional standards. CPA eligibility or certification progress is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant audit experience in public accounting.
• CPA license preferred or CPA-eligible with a plan toward passing the CPA exam.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage audit engagements for financial institution clients, including credit unions and community banks.
• Evaluate internal controls, risk assessments, and engagement documentation.
• Review audit workpapers, statements, and client deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain proactive client communication and build strong working relationships.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, support engagement profitability and quality.
