Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Audio Processing on the Core Platform Technology team at Garmin's U.S. headquarters or Cary, NC.

You will lead embedded software development in C, C++, and Python, and shape how customers hear Garmin devices across product lines. In this role you will design and optimize real-time audio algorithms for wearables and handhelds, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with product teams to enable future integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years experience, or equivalent.
• Proven embedded software development in C/C++ and Python; data structures/object-oriented design.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers on complex software projects.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software development in C, C++ and Python for audio processing.
• Write audio algorithms for embedded devices (wearables, bikes, handhelds).
• Mentor junior engineers and review designs.
• Collaborate with product teams to plan integrations and features.
• Decompose requirements into actionable tasks and drive schedules.
