Sierra Club seeks a Senior Attorney, General Administration to support the General Counsel across the organization. You will handle contracts, governance issues, risk assessment and staff training, working with volunteers and staff nationwide.

The role emphasizes independent judgment, strong drafting and collaboration within a mission-driven, unionized environment. Remote with options in multiple U.S. locations; in-house counsel preferred.

Qualificações

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and admission in good standing to a state bar.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house.
• Familiarity with non-profit organizations and distributed workforces.
• Strong drafting and contract review experience across diverse agreements.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to advise volunteers, staff and outside counsel.

Responsabilidades

• Negotiate, draft and review contracts and other commercial agreements.
• Manage compliance program implementation across constituencies.
• Develop standard contracting procedures and templates and train staff.
• Assess legal risk in business decisions and governance matters.
• Advise on records retention and prepare staff training on legal issues.
• Perform legal research supporting governance and policy decisions.
• Assist in responding to and managing legal claims and outside counsel.
