Smart Solutions CPA seeks an experienced senior auditor for a unique, client-focused role. You will guide clients through the audit, translate complex requests into plain language, and maintain independence and professional skepticism.

This is a part-time, remote position with flexible hours. You will lead meetings, coordinate PBC items, and build strong client relationships while delivering high-quality audits.

Job description

Smart Solutions CPA is looking for an experienced senior auditor with exceptional people skills to join our assurance practice in a unique, client-focused role.

This is not a traditional senior auditor position. In addition to performing audit work, you will serve as the client's primary guide throughout the engagement. You will attend client meetings, help clients understand PBC requests, coordinate open items, and work alongside them to keep the audit moving forward.

Many clients find audit terminology and documentation requests difficult to understand. We are looking for someone patient, approachable, emotionally intelligent, and willing to provide the extra guidance clients sometimes need. You should be able to translate technical audit requests into plain language without making the client feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable.

What You'll Do

• Perform and review audit procedures on assurance engagements
• Attend client meetings and remain closely involved throughout the audit
• Manage and coordinate PBC requests and outstanding items
• Explain audit requests to clients in clear, practical language
• Help clients identify appropriate records and supporting documentation
• Follow up consistently while maintaining a positive client relationship
• Coordinate between the client and the audit engagement team
• Identify potential delays or misunderstandings before they become problems
• Create a supportive, organized, and professional audit experience
• Maintain auditor independence and ensure that all assistance remains within applicable professional standards

Who We're Looking For

• Several years of audit or assurance experience, preferably in public accounting
• Strong understanding of financial statements and common audit procedures
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
• High emotional intelligence, patience, empathy, and sound judgment
• Someone who genuinely enjoys helping clients solve problems
• Ability to explain technical requests without using unnecessary jargon
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• CPA license is helpful but not required

Schedule
