Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an Audit Senior to join its public accounting practice. You will lead audit engagements, manage client relationships, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of audits in accordance with GAAP and PCAOB standards.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with management, and contribute to business development while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. A CPA and 3+ years of public accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters preferred.
  • 3+ years of public accounting audit experience with leadership.
  • Technical expertise in audit methodologies, risk assessment, and internal control.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and experience applying auditing standards.
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills with team management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and budgets.
  • Nice-to-have: CPA license, SEC experience, PCAOB familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and oversee external financial statement audits for public accounting clients, ensuring compliance with GAAP, PCAOB standards, and firm methodologies.
  • Lead engagement teams, including assigning tasks, reviewing workpapers, and providing coaching to senior associates and staff.
  • Coordinate with client management to obtain necessary information, resolve audit issues, and communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Evaluate internal controls, identify areas of risk, and recommend improvements to strengthen client processes and controls.
  • Prepare and review audit documentation, financial statement disclosures, and management letters to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure audits are completed on schedule and within scope.
  • Stay current with regulatory developments (including SEC and PCAOB guidance where applicable) and apply technical accounting and audit updates to engagements.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and cross-selling additional assurance or advisory services.

Position Overview

This role requires strong technical audit skills, practical experience in public accounting, and the ability to mentor and supervise staff while maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and experience applying auditing standards in a public accounting environment.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and team management skills with a track record of mentoring junior staff.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and control engagement budgets.

  • Nice-to-have: CPA license, experience with SEC reporting, familiarity with PCAOB inspection standards, assurance and broader accounting experience.
