Senior Associate Scientist (Cell Therapy)

Base pay range

$45.00/hr - $51.00/hr

We need a candidate with 4-7 years' experience in the CAR T cell therapy field. Other experience is acceptable, but our focus will be on CAR T cell experience.

Job Description:

Working within the Cell Therapy Development Organization (CTDO), the candidate will be part of the Integrated Attribute Sciences group, contributing to the pre-IND and clinical laboratory component of Ph1/2 and late-stage (pivotal) studies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to achieving the annual goals and objectives of the Cell Therapy Development organization and the Integrated Attribute Sciences group.
  2. Execute experiments and testing under the supervision of the Senior Principal Scientist and/or Functional Program Lead to support early and late-stage cell therapy product development.
  3. Contribute to routine and non-routine testing requests of CAR T products, including testing, analysis, and basic interpretation of characterization data to support product clinical development.
  4. Develop fit-for-purpose characterization methods to support CAR-T product CMC data packages and mechanism of action studies.
  5. Assist with early qualification studies of analytical methods for pipeline asset characterization.
  6. Contribute to process/technology improvements and scientific/technical data review and writing (e.g., regulatory documents, protocols).
  7. Interface with team members within the CTAD group to ensure seamless flow of information.
  8. Communicate scientific findings via presentations within the functional area.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Basic Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering (biology, immunology, cell biology, engineering, chemistry, or related field) is required.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of laboratory bench level experience in CAR-based cell therapies or related field.
  3. Master’s Degree with 2+ years of laboratory bench level experience in CAR-based cell therapies or related field.
  4. Experience in handling and maintaining primary cell culture and mammalian cell lines.
  5. Basic scientific background in understanding and performing cell-based assays and technology readouts.
  6. Experience with standard in-vitro assays, assay development, assay optimization, and troubleshooting.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills with experience writing internal documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Direct experience in CAR T cell therapy preferred.
  2. Basic technical understanding of CAR T cell analytical methods and evolving technologies.
  3. Firsthand experience with cellular biology techniques and cell-based assays, including flow cytometry, Incucyte, MSD/ELISA based assays.
  4. Ability to work within established protocols and optimize methods as necessary.
  5. Basic understanding of the drug development process in an industry setting.
  6. Mindset focused on continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to enhance lab efficiency and safety.

Additional Job Requirements:

Lab with blood & animal. Position works with or near in-vivo.
