Scientist - Cell Therapy Process Development
Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Overview
Our client, a large pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Scientist to join the Process Development team within the Cell Therapy Development organization. The role focuses on CAR-T cell manufacturing, with approximately 80% of time spent in the lab setting up and running automation instruments for T cell manufacturing (primarily Prodigy), performing cell manipulation, sampling, and ensuring equipment operates correctly. The position emphasizes process development in CAR-T and its transfer to manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute process development studies using sound scientific and engineering principles to develop and improve unit operations used for production of autologous T-cell therapies.
- Identify, critically assess and evaluate opportunities to improve manufacturing outcomes (e.g., success rate, throughput, cost, process time, and product quality).
- Lead or contribute to the design and execution of phase-appropriate process development study plans, identifying process parameters and ranges for optimal experimental design.
- Investigate improvements to current processes for T-cell selection, activation, transduction, and expansion and assess impact on critical quality attributes.
- Author reports detailing experimental work, results, protocols, technical reports, and SOPs.
- Support technology transfer activities, write protocols and reports, and coordinate activities to support successful manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of process development experience for Cell Therapy or CAR-T manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with equipment and unit operations used in process development and manufacture of cell therapy products.
- Primary cell culture experience.
- Aseptic cell processing technique.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $80,000-$100,000 (flexible based on experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Hiring Method: Multiyear contract – After 1 year on contract, opportunity to apply for a permanent role or have contract renewed for another year
PTO: 10 PTO days, 6 paid sick days annually, and paid holidays
