Cabaletta Bio Inc. in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a highly skilled Scientist with expertise in cell-based assays for CAR T cell therapy to join our Cellular Immunology Preclinical team.

You will develop in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays to advance safety and efficacy of CAR T cells, collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues, and contribute to the RESET program in autoimmune diseases. Experience with flow cytometry and cytotoxicity assays is valued.

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related field with 0–2 years, or Master’s with at least 5 years, or Bachelor’s with at least 10 years experience.
• Hands-on experience with cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques.
• Aseptic techniques and human tissue handling experience required.
• Mammalian cell culture (aseptic) expertise essential.
• Experience in cytotoxicity assays and flow cytometry preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform hands-on lab experiments to maintain, bank, and manage cell lines and generate CAR T cells.
• Conduct cytotoxicity and flow cytometry assays and validate results.
• Execute ELISpot, ELISA, Luminex or MSD assays as needed.
• Follow Cabaletta lab safety policies and SOPs in all tasks.
• Oversee in vivo mouse studies and related ex vivo assays.
• Maintain clean and organized lab equipment and spaces.
• Keep accurate records and electronic lab notebooks.
• Analyze data using basic statistics and software tools.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and participate in meetings.
• Communicate findings via written reports and oral presentations.

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist with expertise in cell‑based assays for CAR T cell therapy. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a crucial role in advancing the field of cellular immunotherapy by developing in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays to contribute to enhancing the safety and efficacy of CAR T cells in preclinical settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research that has the potential to revolutionize treatment for autoimmune disease patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands‑on laboratory experiments following established protocols to maintain and expand, bank, and manage various cell lines and generate CAR T cells.
• Perform and validate cytotoxicity and flow cytometry assays.
• Perform and validate ELISpot, ELISA, Luminex, MSD, or other assays as needed.
• Perform lab associated tasks in accordance with Cabaletta Bio lab safety policies and SOPs.
• Oversee in vivo mouse studies and perform related ex vivo assays as needed.
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Maintain accurate and well‑organized records and electronic laboratory notebook.
• Analyze experimental data using basic statistical methods and software tools.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, actively participating in team meetings and discussions.
• Communicate experimental results and findings effectively to colleagues and supervisors through written reports and oral presentations.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with 0-2 years, or Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years, or Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Hands‑on experience with cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques.
• General lab skills, including aseptic techniques and human tissue handling required.
• Must have prior experience and be highly skilled at mammalian cell culture (aseptic techniques).
• Experience in primary cell husbandry, cytotoxicity assays, and flow cytometry.
• Prior involvement in animal studies or hands‑on animal handling advantageous.
• Must be highly organized and able to work independently.
• A high level of flexibility to support various other activities and the ability to learn new techniques outside of existing field of expertise.
• Strong team orientation and passion for continuous self‑development.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow protocols accurately.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to share experimental findings and collaborate with team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive hands‑on experience with primary immune cell cultures and assays advantageous.
• Experience working in a research or industry setting related to immunology and/or cell therapy.
• Experience in industry or in a startup industrial setting.
• Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to innovative research in the field of CAR T cell therapy.
