Job summary

Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, NJ, seeks an Associate Provost for Curriculum Innovation and Outcomes to lead curricular innovation, workforce-responsive programs, and academic operations under the Provost.

The role partners with Deans and the Center for Teaching and Learning to ideate, implement, and launch new programs while overseeing program reviews and articulation strategies with community colleges.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in an appropriate academic discipline.
• Minimum five years of college-level teaching and/or administrative experience.
• Experience in higher education program development, workforce relationships, or equivalence.
• Experience with collegiate online instruction.
• Experience liaising with multiple departments and project management.
• Experience driving innovative practices inside higher education (preferred).
• Experience leading academic program reviews (preferred).
• Experience with Instructure Canvas (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in advancing a culture of innovation and outcomes.
• Collaborate with Academic Deans, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and senior University leadership to identify, develop, and advance curricular innovation, ensuring portfolio responsiveness.
• Serve as a senior Academic Affairs partner to the University’s Academic Schools, facilitating cross-school collaboration and prioritizing initiatives.
• Coordinate Academic Affairs with Marketing, Website, and IT to position programs strategically.
• Provide leadership for the Academic Program Review process to ensure quality and alignment with priorities.
• Lead participation in state/workforce initiatives (e.g., CREATENJ, NJPLAN).
• Develop and recommend policies to advance curricular innovation and flexible learning pathways.
• Identify trends and challenges to strengthen academic relevance and sustainability.
• Represent Academic Affairs on committees and liaise with various task forces.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
