Job summary

Ares Management is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Registered Secondaries Accounting team. The role focuses on day-to-day accounting, NAV processes, and regulatory reporting for registered investment companies investing in private equity secondaries and related structures.

The position involves coordinating with internal functions and external providers, overseeing cash, close processes, and improving controls as the platform grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 4–7 years of fund accounting or related experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP investment company accounting and regulatory reporting preferred.
• CPA progress or public accounting background is a plus.
• Experience with fund administration software and financial systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly NAV process with reconciliations and activity review.
• Coordinate monthly/quarterly closes and prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Review accounting for secondary investments and related structures.
• Oversee daily cash activities and payment processing.
• Review fund statements and ensure accuracy of recorded activity.
• Prepare regulatory reporting such as Form N-PORT, N-2, N-CSR, N-CSRS.
• Support audits and collaborate with investors and internal teams.
• Identify process improvements and technology implementations.
