Senior Associate - Private Equity and Hedge Fund Accounting (CFO Services)

IQ-EQ is a preeminent service provider to the alternative asset industry. We work with managers across various capacities including hedge fund, private equity fund, and mutual fund launches; private equity fund administration; advisory firm setup, regulatory registration, and infrastructure design; ongoing regulatory compliance (SEC, CFTC, and 40 Act); financial controls and operational support services; compliance and operational reviews; and outsourced CFO/controller and administration services for private equity fund investments—portfolio companies, real estate assets, and energy assets. Our client base is growing, and our existing clients engage us across our spectrum of services.

Job Description

1. Liaise with clients’ external auditors, administrators, HR/payroll, and other service providers.
2. Work with clients to deliver outsourced CFO and related services to Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds.
3. Collaborate with team members and clients, providing daily operational support.
4. Assist in creating financial models, budgets, and ad-hoc financial analysis; participate in projects.
5. Review NAVs, allocations, investor statements, and reconciliations.
6. Review and prepare expense & accrual schedules, management fee calculations, and incentive allocations.
7. Prepare financial statements for funds and management companies.
8. Maintain accounting practices for assigned clients.
9. Research accounting principles and advise teams or clients as needed.
10. Evaluate current financial and accounting processes for new clients, propose improvements, and coordinate implementation.
11. Assist in opening clients’ brokerage and bank accounts.
12. Coordinate and participate in regular conference calls with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
2. 4+ years of experience in the alternative investment management industry (hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, real estate).
3. Public accounting experience is a plus.
4. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
5. Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
6. Passion for working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
7. Hard-working, self-starter, dedicated, punctual, and personable.
8. Strong accounting and analytical skills.
9. Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions efficiently.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with QuickBooks, OpenAir, Bill.com, Expensify is advantageous.

Additional Information

Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience and location. A full benefits package is offered.
