The D. E. Shaw Group in New York seeks an analytical and self-directed accounting professional to join its FinOp Management Company Accounting team. You will own change initiatives, oversee financial reporting, and serve as a controls expert with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Five to eight years of progressive accounting experience; CPA is required.
• Deep technical expertise in financial reporting and internal controls.
• Ability to own initiatives end to end and elevate deliverables through review and design.

Responsibilities

• Own and independently drive change initiatives across the management company accounting function.
• Prepare and review recurring financial reporting deliverables produced by the team.
• Serve as a technical resource on complex accounting matters and controls.
• Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to shape reporting on firmwide initiatives.
• Partner to strengthen processes, close controls gaps, and build scalable workflows.
• Identify opportunities to apply generative AI and automation in close and reporting.
