Job summary

MSIG USA seeks a Senior Associate to support investment accounting, insurance operations, and financial reporting within its Finance organization. The successful candidate will bring three to five years of property and casualty accounting experience, including working knowledge of U.S. NAIC statutory accounting principles and U.S.

GAAP. IFRS experience is a plus and collaboration across Finance, Investments, Actuarial, Ops, FP&A is essential.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of accounting experience within the insurance industry.
• Experience applying NAIC statutory accounting principles (yellowbooks) and GAAP.
• Investment accounting experience with reconciliations and reporting.
• Understanding of insurance operations and the flow of transactions from source systems to the GL and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Excel and GL/financial reporting systems.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual investment accounting activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support accounting for fixed-income securities, equities, investment income, impairments and related transactions.
• Prepare and review investment-related schedules for NAIC statutory and IFRS reporting.
• Assist with statutory financial statements, regulatory schedules, and management reporting.
• Analyze general ledger balances and resolve differences across source systems.
• Collaborate with Investment, Treasury, Actuarial, Tax, and Operations teams to ensure accurate accounting.
• Assist with internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
• Maintain internal controls and contribute to process improvements and data quality initiatives.
