Job summary

Medidata Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Associate General Counsel to lead strategic partnerships and negotiate major customer agreements while guiding a collaborative legal team. The role emphasizes risk management, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic advisory on technology transactions including SaaS offerings.

You will mentor team members, drive complex negotiations with senior sales leadership, and help shape regulatory and contract frameworks across Medidata's global business.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of legal experience, with in-house experience required.
• Experience negotiating complex technology transactions (SaaS).
• Healthcare and data privacy law experience is a plus.
• JD from an accredited law school and NY Bar in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review and negotiation of key strategic agreements with major customers.
• Manage and develop members of the Legal team, overseeing workload and growth.
• Provide legal support for strategic initiatives including AI tool implementations and new revenue models.
• Establish processes for templates, knowledge management, and regulatory compliance.
• Advise on legal issues for new product offerings within existing framework.
• Counsel internal clients on legal risk and mitigation.
