Job summary

Freddie Mac's Multifamily Real Estate Department seeks an experienced Associate General Counsel to join the Risk Management group. You will provide legal advice on a wide range of mortgage finance matters, drawing on a background in commercial real estate finance and/or related litigation.

The role emphasizes asset resolution and fraud matters, enforcement of rights, workouts, and coordination with compliance and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• JD required and in good standing with a state Bar.
• At least 10 years of experience in commercial and/or multifamily real estate finance transactions or related litigation.
• Strong legal analytical and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as legal counsel on asset resolution and fraud matters for Freddie Mac’s multifamily business.
• Draft and negotiate documents related to asset resolution, workouts, and REO management.
• Collaborate with compliance, government affairs, and other teams on investigations, regulatory reporting and inquiries.
• Develop well-structured legal analyses and correspondence for internal and external purposes.
