Optum is seeking a Senior Associate General Counsel (Optum Health M&A Legal) to lead the legal function for health care acquisitions and related business development activities. This remote role supports transactions across the United States and requires strong leadership of a small team of attorneys and professionals.

You'll partner with Business Development, Finance, and Operations to guide deal structure, negotiate purchase agreements, and manage post-close integration.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active law license.
• 10+ years of M&A and transactional legal experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume deal environments.
• Demonstrated solid executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal support for mid-sized acquisitions and strategic transactions.
• Structure and negotiate purchase agreements and related documents.
• Advise on transaction risk and mitigation strategies.
• Mentor a small team of attorneys and staff.
• Coordinate enterprise approvals and governance.
